Peter Michael Clarke is an English professional footballer.
His main and rather the only source of income is a professional career as a footballer which brings him great profits.
He is a center back for Walsall of the EFL League Two.
Clarke started out at Everton. He played nine times in league matches when he was there and spent time on loan at Coventry City, Port Vale, and Blackpool.
In 2004, he subsequently made a permanent move to Blackpool, where he also served as club captain.
Prior to moving to Huddersfield Town in 2009, he played for Southend United, where he captained the team from 2006 to 2009.
In 2012, he assisted the "Terriers" in gaining promotion out of League One through the playoffs. In July 2014, he returned to Blackpool, but was fired when the team was demoted at the end of the campaign.
He began working for Bury in May 2015, and in July 2016, he transferred to Oldham Athletic.
After being released by Oldham, he returned to his old team Bury on loan in January 2018 and signed for Fleetwood Town in August 2019.
In January 2020, he transferred to Tranmere Rovers, where he participated in the 2021 EFL Trophy final. On June 1, 2022, he joined Walsall.
At Blackpool, Southend, Huddersfield (twice), Bury, and Oldham Athletic, he received Player of the Season honors in the 2004–05, 2008–09, 2009–10, 2010–11, 2015–16, 2016–17, and 2018–19 seasons, respectively.
Between 2002 and 2003, Clarke earned eight caps for the England under-21 squad. He was selected for the PFA Team of the Year and the EFL League Two Team of the Season at the age of 40.
