Peter Attia is a Coptic Egyptian-born Canadian-American physician whose medical practice focuses on the science of longevity.
Following medical school, Attia worked as a general surgery resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland for five years. He worked as a surgical oncology fellow for two years at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, under Steven Rosenberg.
As his residency came to an end, Attia accepted a position as a member of McKinsey & Company's Corporate Risk Practice and Healthcare Practice in Palo Alto.
In 2012, Attia co-founded Nutrition Science Initiative (NuSI) with Gary Taubes and served as its President. Attia established Attia Medical, PC in 2014, a medical practice specializing in the applied science of longevity and peak performance.
He was one of the TEDMED 2013 speakers. In Tim Ferriss' book Tools of Titans, Attia includes a chapter where she gives advise.
