Birdman is a rapper and record executive from the United States.
Cash Money Records, which he co-founded with his older brother Ronald "Slim" Williams in 1992, is his co-founder and public face.
Birdman debuted in 2002 with his debut album and has since produced four solo studio albums. He is also a member of the hip-hop combo Big Tymers, along with producer Mannie Fresh, in addition to his solo career.
Birdman has released a collaboration album and numerous singles with fellow rapper and protégé Lil Wayne, whom he found and brought under his wing at the age of twelve, in addition to his solo work and multiple albums with the Big Tymers.
He has also created a reputation for himself by assisting in the creation of YMCMB (Young Money Cash Money Billionaires), a hybrid of Birdman's "Cash Money" and Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, which was formerly an imprint under the label.
Birdman also launched the Rich Gang project and hip hop supergroup in 2014, bringing notice to fellow Southern musicians like Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan for the first time.
