Dassani, a Mumbai native, began his career aiding filmmaker Rohan Sippy on the films Dum Maaro Dum and Nautanki Saala! He attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and the New York Film Academy.

With Vasan Bala's action comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Dassani made his feature film debut.

It premiered in the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Madness section, where it received the People's Choice Award: Midnight Madness. The film was also shown at the MAMI Film Festival in 2018.

He did all of the stunts himself and spent days watching classic action movies to get a feel for the genre. While filming, he shattered a finger and dislocated his shoulder.

Dassani portrayed the male role opposite Sanya Malhotra in the Netflix romantic comedy Meenakshi Sundareshwar in 2021. The film was panned because of its stereotypical portrayal of Tamils.

Dassani's next film, Nikamma, will be released on June 17, 2022, and will star Shilpa Shetty and Shirley Setia. He'll also appear in the comedy-drama Aankh Micholi, starring Mrunal Thakur and others, in an ensemble cast.
